Biography
Somaya Reece, known as "La Jefa," is a dynamic Afro-Latina recording artist, philanthropist, and wellness advocate. Proud of her Salvadoran and African roots, she was raised in South Central Los Angeles, shaping her resilience and passion for music. Inspired by Celia Cruz at seven, she mastered the violin and earned honors as a lead violinist.
Recognized by XXL as a "Female Emcee You Need to Know," Somaya's bilingual flow and energy have drawn comparisons to a female Pitbull, leading to a personal invitation from Pitbull to headline Calle Ocho following a Latin America tour. Her hit single “Descontrol” featuring Lapiz Conciente premiered on MTV3, while “Party with The World” and “Fuego” were featured on The Bad Girls Club.
Now releasing music under her own label, La Rosa Entertainment Inc., Somaya continues to make waves globally. Her latest single, “Todo Va Estar Bien,” a fusion of Afrobeats and Latin music, has gained organic traction, landing on major Spotify playlists and resonating with listeners worldwide.
